With 2013 well and truly underway, I thought it was time I shared my most anticipated reads, as I personally always find it interesting to see what people are most looking forward to. Also, making lists is always fun, especially bookish ones, though I must say, this was certainly a little tricky to put together due to ALL the amazing releases – debuts, sophomores, companions, series instalments and more – which are set to release this year. So enough rambling, here they are:
I love Stephanie Perkins with a passion and will read whatever she writes. I’ve been waiting FOREVER to read this and though I completely understand and respect the decision it being pushed back a year, I’m just glad we’ll finally be able to read it this year! Woohoo!
Aussie book alert! I'm a big fan of Simmone’s debut Something Beautiful so when I heard she had a new book coming out, I got a little A LOT excited. I absolutely can’t wait to see what she’s whipped up for us with Girl Defective and hope I love it as much as I did Something Beautiful.
I loved Trish’ debut, Something Like Normal. It was heartbreaking, real and beautiful and after falling under her spell, I will happily read anything she writes, ever.
I recently read In Honor and really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to reading more of Jessi’s work. Not only does Golden have a pretty cover but it sounds spectacular too!
Anything by Sarah Alderson
So this might be cheating just a little but oh well. I love this British woman and her books are awesome, action-packed and always contain a hot boy to swoon over and lots of steam – what’s not to love! Sarah doesn’t just have one book releasing in 2013, or even two, but THREE, including Control, Shadowed and The Sound. Bring it on!
And because more books keep circling around in head, a few honorable mentions:
Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood - Eeeeeee!
When You Were Here by Daisy Whitney - Argggh!
Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor - Sqeeee!
This list doesn’t even come anywhere near to listing all the 2013 releases I’m looking forward to and can't wait to get my hands on but this should give you an idea of some of my most anticipated titles.
What about YOU? What books are you most anxious for? Do share, I'd love to hear!
I'm SO looking forward to reading Isla and the Happily Ever After! Can't get enough of that author's work. Great picks!

DeleteI definitely can't WAIT to read Isla and the Happily Ever After! Heck, I'll be happy just seeing the cover of it! :) I think I'm most looking forward to Shades of Earth and the next one in the For Darkness Shows the Stars series. There are so many great books coming out this year!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of Girl Detective. Definitely adding it to my TBR pile. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Rebecca I agree there is so much awesomeness set for release this year I would never be able to stick to just a few books! I can't wait for Isla and the Happily Ever after and of course all of Sarah Alderson's releases. I'm also excited for the second book in the series by Paula Weston called Haze and Boundless by Cynthia Hand! A brilliant list Rebecca! :)
ReplyDeleteI read Something Like Normal recently and I loved it to! I can't wait for her new book, I hope it's just as good!
ReplyDeleteKristin @ Young Adult Book Haven
I haven't read Stephanie Perkins yet!!! What is WRONG with me?! I've had Anna and the French Kiss on my shelf since last. summer. This is my year of reading all the books I own that I've never read, though, so I'm determined to get to it. I've heard great things about her books. All these other books look so good too! I haven't really looked through all the books releasing this year, yet. Kind of on purpose since I have so many older books to read. Heh. I'm really intrigued by GOLDEN though! I like the premise a lot. The girl sounds like someone I could really relate to. Ahem. ;) Great list Rebecca! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOMG out of breath of rebecca donovan, and requiem of lauren oliver, i just can't wait..
ReplyDeleteIsla! I am definitely looking forward to the release of that book. Though I should admit that I haven't been waiting nearly as long as everyone else. I only just read Anna and Lola at the end of last year! ;) I also can't wait for Sarah Alderson's new books, and the sequel to Unspoken.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
