AAA: Kody Keplinger, author of The DUFF: Top 5 Books Everyone Should Read

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Kody Keplinger so to have her stopping by Author Appreciation August is very exciting. Kody is the author of The DUFF, Shut Out, A Midsummer’s Nightmare and set to release next year in 2013, Goldfish. Instead of a written ‘Top 5’ post, Kody has put her answers in the form of a vlog. Sit back, relax and I hope you all enjoy watching this vlog as much as I did! Please give a warm welcome to the one and only, Kody Keplinger!

  1. I haven't read ANY of these! Haha. Must get on that. Also, I read a lot of Judy Blume when I was younger, but I just realized that I've never read 'Are You There God? It's Me Margaret.' This is a massive fail that must be rectified. Thank you Kody & Rebecca!

  3. OH MY GOODNESS. This may be my favorite of your AAA posts so far. She feels so strongly about these books and it makes me want to OWN THEM ALL right this second. NOW. Loved that.

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. is one of the best books ever. I had it when I was younger and read it until the pages started falling out.

    1. Your favourite AAA post? That makes me seriously happy. So glad to hear you enjoyed this! After watching Kody's epic vlog, all I want to do is buy all the books she mentioned, lock myself away in my room and READ. To read a book that much that the pages start falling out - now that's some SERIOUS dedication ;) After hearing the marvellous things both you and Kody had to say about Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, I am VERY intrigued.

  5. I have yet to read Speak though I know I should, I've heard it's dark and brilliant and a must-read so I'm not sure what my problem is in not picking it up yet! I have read Are There God, It's Me Margaret and I remember loving it when I was younger! It's been while since I've read a Judy Blume book though! Such a great vlog, thanks for sharing Kody and Rebecca!

  8. I haven't had the chance to read any of Kody's books but I've heard of them a lot. I love that she is so young - it must mean the books provide a more accurate view of the teen world than the typical adult written novel, right?

  10. I really really want to read Speak! I've been reading reviews on how powerful that book is and how it gives a huge impact on readers after finishing the book!

Awww, I really love Sarah Dessen too! She's an amazing author although I haven't actually read Dreamland (I think it's one of Sarah's earlier books?) But I did read The Truth about Forever and Just Listen which are my absolute favourites!

Anyway, fantastic post, Becca! ♥ Love Kody's vlog too. I really really loved The DUFF, SHUT OUT and can't wait to read A Midsummer's Nightmare + Goldfish ;)
