Blogspiration (3): A Thousand Lives

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.

Author Appreciation August has begun, and when I saw this image it was exactly what I had been looking for and not to mention, absolutely true.  We lose ourselves in books, and stories and the fictional worlds authors have whipped up for us to devour and enjoy. Reading not only enables us to escape from reality but to live, not one, but a thousand lives. We have authors to thank for this.

Take your pick, and journey into the unknown; there’s magic waiting to be discovered.

I love this quote, it's so beautifully true. And it's what makes me love AAA all the more, for thanking these truly incredible authors for the precious gift we take from them every time we crack open a spine. Our lives would not be the same without them <3

    1. Aw, glad to hear you like this week's Blogspiration :) It's such an amazing meme, isn't it! Exactly! Without authors we wouldn't live a thousand lives, not to mention, we would be terribly bored and lost <3

    1. Thank you! :) I have to agree with you there. I started reading the Vampire Academy series this year and it only took me a month or so to get through the lot. I loved how it ended, but it also felt sad to say goodbye. I sure do miss Rose and Dimitri <3

  4. Ooooh, this is perfect and I adore this quote so much. (And on a totally superficial note, that background picture on it just makes me think ADVENTURE.)
Being able to create worlds that readers can lose and find themselves in, and characters real enough to feel like friends is such an amazing gift.
    Love it.

    1. It's so nice to see everyone enjoying this quote as much as I do! The background sure is gorgeous, it makes me love this image all the more! It definitely is an amazing gift and that's why it's so important to give something back and appreciate the authors who write beautiful, meaningful, addictive books for the world to read :)

  5. This is so true! I feel bad for people who don't read, they never get to experience any other lives but their own. How boring!

    1. Thanks, Jen! Some people just don't get reading which is kinda sad. I blame it on required school reading as the chosen book was usually a boring classic or such. That and if you haven't been reading your whole life, it's hard to know what you might like to read, so then when you do give it a try you don't end up liking it because you have no idea what kind of book is good for you. I'll stop rambling... ;)

    2. *butts in* YES. THIS SUCKS.

And this: "I blame it on required school reading." I agree. This SUCKS, because all it does is encourage an aversion to reading, which is so, so unfortunate :(

All those kids who grew up LOVING picture books and stories never make the step to loving reading as an adult because it's taught out of them :(

    3. I KNOW! SILLY SCHOOL. They damage the students beyond repair...

Exactly. It's so sad to think that because of silly required reading, people are scared for life, and think that ALL books must be bad and evil and suck beyond repair.

I know that required books for school can be bad but...I can't imagine my life without books and reading. <3
