Top Ten Tuesday: 2014 Debuts I'm Excited For

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, Top Ten Tuesday involves two of my favorites - list making and talking books - with a new topic featured each week. (I haven't done one of these in AGES. I don't plan to take part all the time but I will be joining in from time to time when a subject tickles my fancy.)
Top Ten 2014 Debuts I'm Excited For

I love debuts, hence why I’m hosting Debut Delirium, a feature to spotlight new authors and their books throughout the year. In fact, the first official debut post goes live TOMORROW, so be sure to come back then! It’s going to be FUN. On to my debut wish list – trust me, this was no easy feat and these are in no particular order:

Pointe by Brandy Colbert
I think this one sounds INCREDIBLE. I might have bounced around in my chair when I first read the blurb. And that cover!
Expected: April

Summer on the Short Bus by Bethany Crandell
This book sounds like a great balance between fun and heartwarming. Plus, a Zac Efron lookalike? A huh.
Expected: April

Not in the Script by Amy Finnegan
Have you read the blurb? If so, you’ll agree that it sounds like a lot of fun. Release date, why are you so far away?
Expected: September

Words and Their Meanings by Kate Bassett
So, so excited! This sound like it could possibly become a favourite and I don’t say that often.
Expected: 2014

Falling into Place by Amy Zhang
IMAGINATIVE - I read the blurb and that is the vibe I get. Who wouldn’t be looking forward to reading a book “told from the perspective of her neglected childhood imaginary friend”?
Expected: September

No Place to Fall by Jaye Robin Brown
I have one word: GIMME *grabby hands*
Expected: December

Beware the Wild by Natalie C. Parker
I have heard such good things about this debut and the year has only just begun. Colour me intrigued!
Expected: 2014

Otherbound by Corinne Duyvis
I’m a contemporary girl and I hardly read fantasy but THIS – oh my.
Expected: June

Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley
A Historical LGBT, plus it sounds really good.
Expected: October

Behind the Scenes by Dahlia Adler
This sounds so fun and like a blast to read!
Expected: June

Phew! Which debut's are you most anticipating? Spill!

  2. I got the same vibe from Falling into Place. It just sounds so unique and imaginative. I'm really excited to read it and find out how the narration from the imaginary friend is going to be! I'm actually kind of a fantasy/sci-fi kind of girl, but I have been reading more and more contemps the past year, so this list is pretty awesome for me. New contemporaries to check out!

  5. I am really, really excited about OTHERBOUND and LIES WE TELL OURSELVES, too. Discovering new debut authors to love is always one of the greatest joys of a new year--thanks for highlighting a couple that weren't on my radar, too!
