Blogspiration (4): Astonishing Books, Amazing Authors

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.
Books are rather simple objects – paper, ink, words – but they are so much more than that. Books open our minds, get us thinking, provoke emotion, connect us with other readers, engage our attention, enable us to escape from reality, get under our skin and weave themselves into our very soul. Books make me want to do and be better and for that I am forever indebted to authors.

As you know, it’s Author Appreciation August so don’t forget to say thanks and repay some love! Authors are amazing human beings (like superhero’s but better) who deserved to be appreciated and adored, so make sure you take the time to say ‘thanks’.

  1. Awesome quote. The medium may be fairly simple, but what they contain is pretty damn spectacular.

    1. Thanks, Lauren :) Exactly, books may just be pages among pages bound together but it's more than that. It's the words inside that make it something really special.

  2. Yup, that's about it. It's the same idea with people, too, wouldn't you agree?

    1. Agreed! I completely (along with everyone other book blogger/reading addict) what you mean. Some people don't and never will understand books (so sad!) but for us as readers they are magical, allow us to escape and live in a whole new world for a short time.

Thanks, Celine, it's always nice when you stop by! ♥

  8. Oooh, yes, yes, and it's so amazing when you really start thinking about it, how the same book, the same words on the same pages can speak to us in a thousand different ways. Because we all see the world slightly differently, at different times and in different places.
And then when you think about it some more, and just words full stop are amazing. After all, they're really just arbitrary little black squiggles but they have so much magic inside. Gah! I love this!

    1. EXACTLY. Isn't there a saying or quote like...No one one reads the same book twice?

YES, YES, YES! Letters and words on a page are made of tiny inky scribbles, but add chapter after chapter and you've got yourself a book, an amazing story, something that could possible change your outlook on life and your world. And now I am rambling... ;D
